Expansion of the machine series
The KEL-VERA leaves no wish ungranted in terms of precision, removal perform-ance and productivity.
Now KELLENBERGER expands this successful machine series with the overall length 750, and a fast, highly accurate B-axis.
Now the rotating-spindle-only workhead for a maximum load of 200 kg is avail-able with direct drive. This supplements the already successfully introduced heavy model for loads up to 300 kg.


KEL- VERA
The extremely rigid hydrostatic guides are the reason for the great performance and dynamics in the X and Z axes. Rapid traverse speeds and optimized dressing concepts reduce non-productive times and guarantee short cycle times.
As in the 400 series, the machine concept is based on platforms for the slide and wheelhead supports, but also for workpiece applications based on the lower table. The model series is available along the lines of standard configurations, which also permit application and customer specific models.
The new B-axis has a four times faster rapid traverse speed, is hydrostatically supported, and has a direct drive.
Based on experience with the heavy model, a new, smaller workhead is now available. This means that the advantages of a direct drive can also be enjoyed for small and medium size workpieces.
The newest control generations from Heidenhain or Fanuc support the direct drives, and guarantee rigid drive trains to satisfy the highest demands.

Available as option is the KEL-PORTAL loading system which can be integrated in the machine.

Construction
Hydrostatic guide system
• The construction of the X-axis is based on generously sized right-angle guides, whose supports and sides are hydraulically pre-tensioned. This guarantees the best rigidity in all directions.
• The construction of the Z-axis is also based on right-angle guides, whose sides are hydraulically pre-tensioned. The support is pre-tensioned by its own weight and a vacuum. This guide guarantees the highest rigidity in the work direction, and ensures a straightness of the surface line of < 0.002 mm.
• Thanks to the classic hydrostatics, the table and slide are fully independent of the machine bed at all times, which guarantees a wear-free guide!

Machine base
• The machine bed is made of a solid cast construction so it is guaranteed to absorb strong processing forces up to a grinding power of 20 kW.
• The machine bed made of cast iron is highly rigid and has ideal thermal characteristics, and especially pre-vents bimetal effects.
• The proven coolant recirculation system is not con-nected to the machine bed. Generous air gaps ensure a high degree of thermal stability, and guarantee there are no sudden changes in measurements.


Drive system
• The machine has generously proportioned drive sys-tems in the X and Z-axes. Servo motors with very rigid drive characteristics are coupled directly to the ball screw. This leads to good contour accuracy.
• The B and C-axes are optionally available with direct drives.

• A neutral loading interface for your own loading con-trol is available for complex tasks.



Traditionally typical KELLENBERGER features
Robust, rigid construction with a high degree of precision for workhead and tailstock.
A comprehensive cooling system contributes to stable temperature levels. Included in this are the hydro-statics, the wheelhead, the internal grinding spindles, and a heat exchanger in the electric cabinet.
The consistent separation of the machine base from the heat and vibration generating components guar-antees the highest in precision and productivity.
Because of the high structural and dynamic rigidity of the machine bed a three-point support system can be used, so it makes no special demands on the foundation.
Generously designed sliding doors, various service doors, and the tidy power lines make it easier for the operator to work and maintain the machine.
