Data which have to be stored due to legal obligations will be blocked. A deletion of these data is not admissible.
Our personalized service relies on processing personal data you have provided. If you revoke your consent for a permission of your personal data, then we will no longer be able to provide personalized service.
VDW processes your personal data via Messe Düsseldof on specially protected servers in Germany. Access is restricted to a small group of authorized persons who are empowered by VDW to administer the technical, commercial and content-related aspects of the server.
Cookies are ASCII files (cookie.txt) in which text information is collected during your online session and stored. Your browser determines where the cookies are stored on your hard disk. Cookies contain information that is sent back to the host server during your next online visit. They can be read only by the server that originally placed them on your hard disk.

Creating a user profile and use of online-services
Visitors have the option of using a special registration service for METAV.
The user profile you create by your registration can be used for the METAV website. The following fields are mandatory for all user categories whereas you can add further data voluntarily:
Access data: e-mail address and password
Personal details: form of address, first name and surname
After creating a user profile you may use various online-services like a ticket-registration (for professional visitors only), a fair planner, and the services "my stored items"or the service "my fair agenda".
In the case of a ticket registration we will process the following mandatory data: company name, sector of industry, street/house number, postcode and city and business unit in which you operate.
You are free to participate in online-surveys concerning your interests and experiences with regard to your visit of the fair.
When using online services the personal data entered will be stored in your profile and processed to offer the services requested.
All personal data entered when creating a user profile or when using online services will be processed with your consent. VDW will also process these data for advertising purposes with your consent. Details are outlined in the consent declaration. Unfortunately you can not use these services like a ticket registration offered by VDW without agreeing to a consent declaration. You may buy a ticket at the entrance of the fair without any registration.
Log file data
When having access to METAV website, we will automatically receive log file data. We process this data by using a pseudonym in order to optimise our website, for advertising purposes and for market research. You have the right to opposite to this by sending an email to the privacy officer of VDW firstname.lastname@example.org.
Pursuant to Germany's Federal Data Protection Act (BDSG), we are subject to a strict duty of care when processing the personal data that you provide to us online.
Website access data
Every time someone visits at METAV website, his or her visit generates site-usage data. This data is stored for backup purposes, but could conceivably also be used to identify the visitor (e.g. IP address, date and time, pages viewed). VDW analyzes its data for statistical purposes and to identify trends, but in doing so adheres strictly to stringent data security standards. Our analysis of this data does not include any attempt to link it to individuals.

Providing personal data to third parties
We undertake to disclose your personal data to third parties only in the course of processing order data, e.g. online orders, if we have obtained your express permission in advance.
Any associated service organizations that receive personal data from us for order-processing purposes are bound by the provisions of Germany's Federal Data Protection Act (BDSG) and contractually by the relevant Deutsche Messe guidelines. We will only store and/or disclose those data which are necessary for the legitimate processing of your order. VDW will not disclose any other information - such as details you might have provided regarding your interests in specific events or subject areas - to third parties.
In cases where required by law, including by court order, VDW will turn over the specified personal data to the authorized party. VDW will not turn over your data to third parties for any other purposes, unless it has your express approval to do so.
